Over 400 people with schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorder were tested for changes in 215 possible risk genes. Gene changes in DST were identified in four people with autism and five people with schizophrenia, but also in three people without social or mental health differences. The authors of this study observe that no evidence in the literature supports rare changes at DST in people with schizophrenia or autism.
