On February 14, 2023, Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard announced the appointment of Wendy Chung as their next Pediatrician-in-Chief and Chair of Pediatrics, effective July 1, 2023. This appointment is a fitting tribute to Wendy’s remarkable leadership as a pediatrician, medical geneticist and scientist dedicated to improving the health of children and families. Wendy’s appointment is also a reflection of the many contributions our patient advocacy communities have made over the years.

The Simons Foundation Autism Research Institute (SFARI) and the Simons Foundation remain committed to Simons Searchlight and autism research. Wendy will continue as a PI of Simons Searchlight. Our study’s recruitment, engagement, retention, return of results and research match will continue.

This transition will afford many exciting new opportunities to increase the impact of Simons Searchlight. We will continue to keep our patient advocacy community informed in our monthly study update emails.
